A Musical Journey to the Turkish Mediterranean
June 12-26, 2000

A Two Week Adventure inSouthern Turkey at theTohum Living Earth
Center on the Sunny Shores of Ancient Lycia.

Presented By:
Tohum Center for Natural Living in conjunction with Global Alliance for Intelligent Arts.
Tohum which means "seed" in Turkish, is a unique place of sustainable living,
blending traditions with modern elements.

General Itinerary

Monday, June12:
Depart from John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Tuesday, June 13:
Arrive Dalaman Airport in southern Turkey, via Istanbul.
Tohum staff will greet and drive the group to the Mediterranean town of Fethiye.
Welcome dinner at Tohum Living Earth Center.

Wednesday, June 14:
Relax, make new acquaintances, enjoy the beautiful environment, go to the beach, swim;
opportunities for folk dancing, drumming, walking in paths through aromatic herbs and pine forest.

Thursday, June 15:
Morning yoga. Trip to the lively & picturesque town of Fethiye
(the ancient Telmessos) with its colorful markets, museum and rock tombs.

Friday, June 16:
Morning yoga. Yacht cruise on Mediterranean.
A full day of sailing, swimming, snorkeling and sun.

Saturday, June 17:
Day at the Tohum Center. Yoga, music/drumming and relaxation.

Sunday, June 18:
Day trip to ancient Lycean sites. Picnic, hikes and sightseeing.

Monday, June 19:
Trip to the high pastures of the surrounding mountains.
Possible overnight stay.

Tuesday, June 20:
Return to Center.Solstice Celebration with drumming/music, fire circle, dancing, etc.

Wednesday, June 21:
Departure to the village of Basmakci in the Lake District.
Visit women1s carpet cooperative, the village1s organic chickpea fields
(Tohum's project) and rose gardens.  Hike in the mountains. Possible overnight at village homes.

Thursday, June 22:
Return to the Center via Fethiye. Free day around Fethiye (a great opportunity to shop for indigenous musical instruments, clothing, spices, etc). Night at the Center.

Friday, June 23:
Morning yoga. Day of relaxing , beach, swimming, drumming/music,dancing, etc.
Possible yacht cruise.

Saturday, June 24:
Morning yoga. Visit Kayakoy, an environmentally protected deserted Greek village.
Hike to a monastery carved into a cliff. Night at the center.

Sunday, June 25:
Morning yoga. Last day for shopping, swimming, sightseeing, drumming, celebrating.
Grand farewell event!

Monday, June 26:
Early morning transportation to Dalaman Airport for flightback to the U.S.

conditions & group interest.

Cost,Payment & Important Information

-Cost: $2850,
incl. airfare from New York, ground transportation, accommodations, meals, entrance fees to historic sites,
yoga, music classes and many extras.

A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due April 1st.
Final payment is due May 15 th. Use personal check, cashiers check or money order payable to GAIA.
