Film, Video, and Animation by David Drew Longey
I began making films at the age of 12, with a Super-8 movie camera. I was lucky to have film and Drama classes in high school with a great teacher, Mr. David Hubert, who has since passed on. After two years as a drama major at the University of Connecticut (1980-82), I left school to work for a couple of years. I enrolled in the film department at the Massachusetts College of Art in 1985. In 1988 I recieved my BA with honors. During that period I worked at Penpoint Animation studios on Newbury street, where I worked as an artist and animator on a series of commercials and industrial films for clients such as USA cinemas and Converse, and directed and designed "Captain Zoom", a children's birthday video distributed by AmericanPro Inc.
Currently, I teach animation at the Massachusetts College of Art (see notes) and produce freelance art and animation for MediaOne Advertising and other clients. Please contact me if you are interested in my services for the purpose of videography, editing or animation production. |
