Journey to the land of the Samba.

Tour Itinerary

March 1st, Wednesday 2000 Day 1 - USA
  Depart for Rio de Janeiro via overnight jet flight.

March 2nd, Thursday Day 2 - Rio de Janeiro
  Early morning arrival at Rio's Galeão Airport.
  After immigration and customs, transfer to hotel.
  Balance of day at leisure to acquaint with city.

March 3rd Friday Day 3 - Rio de Janeiro
  Tour to Sugar Loaf. A two-stage cable car brings you atop Sugar Loaf
Mountain where you will have an astonishing view of Guanabara Bay,
 Copacabana Beach, and the city.
  Afternoon visit to H. Stern Gem factory, the largest jeweler in the world. (Free Optional)

March 4th Saturday Day 4 - Rio de Janeiro ( Corcovado Optional tour )
  Tour to the top of the Corcovado Mountain where the gigantic statue of Christ the redeemer,
 a landmark of Rio stands. The panoramic view of the city is spectacular and breathtaking.

March 5th Sunday Day 5 - Rio de Janeiro ( Tropical Island Optional Tour)
  Full day cruise/tour to the Tropical Islands. Early morning scenic drive via Costa Verde
 "Green Coast" to the fishing village of Itacurussa for the cruise to a tropical paradise.
  Arrival at Jaguanum Island for swimming, sightseeing and a delightful buffet lunch.
  Return to Rio early evening.

March 6th Monday Day 6 - Rio de Janeiro - (Petropolis Optional Tour)
  The Imperial Petropolis located in the mountains and once the
residence of Brazil's Royal Family.
  Casas de Samba where you can see Samba demonstrations.
  Churrascaria - All you can eat barbecue restaurant for great food and fun.

March 7th Tuesday Day 7 - Rio de Janeiro - USA
  Free day.
  Evening transfer to the airport for flight to USA.

Director of G.A.I.A., founder of Drums Around the World, leads various other tours to Mexico, Cuba, W. Africa, Turkey, Egypt & Jamaica.

Cost and Registration
Cost: $1599, incl. airfare from New York*, ground transportation,
